Privacy policy
Policy version 2026-01. This explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
Enquiry and contact forms collect your name, email address, and optionally your phone number and organisation, together with your message and the page you submitted it from. Newsletter signup collects your email address, an optional first name. We record the date and version of the policy you consented to.
Why we collect it
To respond to your enquiry, to keep an accurate record of the request and its outcome, to send the newsletter where you have asked for it, and to protect the service from abuse. We do not use your details for automated decision-making or profiling.
Consent and lawful basis
Enquiries are processed on the basis of your explicit consent and our legitimate interest in responding to you. Newsletter emails are sent only on the basis of consent, recorded with a timestamp and the policy version in force at the time. We do not import contact lists from third parties.
Sharing
Enquiries sent through a business profile are recorded by TellTip about that listing; they are not automatically forwarded to the business. We use trusted infrastructure providers to host the site and database. We never sell your personal data.
Retention
Enquiry records are kept for 24 months after the last contact, then deleted or anonymised. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe, after which your email address is retained on a suppression list solely to make sure we never email you again. Security logs are kept for 12 months.
Security
Data is stored in access-controlled databases with row-level security policies. Administrative access requires authentication and an assigned role, and administrative actions are recorded in an audit log. Secrets and keys are held in protected server-side storage and are never exposed in the browser.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent at any time. Contact us and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to your data protection regulator.
